According to the distributor I won a copy of this from - this movie was actually filmed several years ago but it wasn't put together until just recently.
The premis is great... soldiers go to a facility to evacuate the building but something went wrong, the helicopter crashes and the resuers need to be recued. This facity though is more than what meets the eye!
The facility is a secret zombie testing ground. They are trying to bring them back to human form. Things go from bad to worse as it soon becomes an 'inmate running te prison' situation. The film is very well shot and it includes something that some have dubbed "zombie-vision" -- in scenes where it's the zombies, there is this red, blue, yellow-ish tint on the camera lense to give the audience of who... or what you are looking at.
These are not really your typical zombies... some are smart, some talk, a couple have this 'in charge' attitude (other zombies follow his commands). When they eat human brains, they take on all memories,& all skills (martial arts/combat/secret codes/etc) that the human had. So if you're bad-ass solider with tactical training - don't get eaten!
I love the struggle between the inmates trying to out maneuver the scientists & soldiers and the soldiers protecting the scientists until military help arrives for evacuation.
The movie was shot in an late 70's to mid 80's feel with a very large cast. Overall, I enjoyed the movie... and ironically, so did my mother who doesn't reallqy like zombie movies... so that says something :) It may be a rare find but if you get a chace - yes!
